Float switch with horizontal arrangement is mounted on the side of the tank wall and serves for automatic detection of liquid level. When the level changes, the float tilts around the pivot and the magnet inside activates the reed contact in the body, thereby controlling the connected device - pump, alarm, topping up or signaling. The PP plastic construction with a sealing o-ring ensures waterproof installation and resistance to mildly chemical liquids. The sensor operates passively, without its own power supply, and is particularly suitable for aquariums, hydroponic systems, and small tanks where there is no space for a traditional vertical float.

The side float switch is a popular solution in aquaristics, hydroponics, and small technological tanks where precise control of water level is required without the sensor resting on the bottom. The float rotates on the pivot at a small angle and in the extreme position sends a short switching signal - it can be used for automatic topping up of evaporated water, protecting the pump from running dry, signaling overflow of a marine aquarium, and controlling pumps in hydroponics. For proper function, it is important to connect the switch via a relay so that the direct breakdown current does not exceed the maximum switching value. Compact dimensions and easy side mounting make it a universal part for DIY home automation projects for filling and emptying tanks. The sensor operates maintenance-free for a long time and withstands hundreds of thousands of activations without wear.
